Route of Emotions – A Curated Voyage Along Brazil’s Living Coast
Embark on one of Brazil’s most extraordinary journeys, where vast landscapes, elemental beauty, and authentic human encounters unfold along the country’s remote northern coast. The Route of Emotions begins in Fortaleza, a lively seaside capital, and follows sandy tracks and coastal paths toward some of Brazil’s most untouched and inspiring natural environments.
The first highlight of the journey is Jericoacoara, an iconic destination set within a protected national park, where paved roads disappear and nature takes the lead. Reached by off-road vehicles, Jericoacoara reveals a timeless landscape of sweeping golden dunes, pristine beaches, and crystal-clear freshwater lagoons such as Lagoa do Paraíso and Lagoa Azul, with hammocks floating gently over turquoise waters. The village’s sandy streets, rustic-chic pousadas, and relaxed atmosphere create a unique blend of simplicity and comfort. Visitors experience unforgettable moments at the famous sunset dune, explore the emblematic Pedra Furada, and enjoy tranquil evenings beneath star-filled skies. Known also for its constant coastal winds, Jericoacoara attracts kitesurfers from around the world while remaining a haven of serenity for nature lovers.
Continuing westward, the route passes through remote fishing villages and wild coastal scenery to reach the Parnaíba Delta, the only open-sea delta in the Americas. Here, rivers divide into countless channels bordered by mangroves, dunes, and islands, forming a remarkably rich ecosystem. Guests stay immersed in this pristine environment, enjoying quiet waterways, abundant birdlife, and sunsets that paint the sky in warm tones, far from the noise of modern life.
The journey then leads to Atins, a small and secluded village at the gateway to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, where vast dunes meet the Atlantic Ocean. From here begins one of the most meaningful experiences of the Route of Emotions: a guided trekking crossing of Lençóis Maranhenses. Walking across endless white sand dunes and seasonal crystal-clear lagoons, travelers venture deep into remote areas of the park, far beyond the usual routes.
During the trekking, nights are spent in small, isolated communities, where local fishing families open their humble homes to welcome visitors. Sharing simple meals, stories, and daily routines offers a rare opportunity to experience life in Lençóis Maranhenses from the inside, fostering genuine cultural exchange and a profound sense of connection. Comfort is simple, but the warmth, hospitality, and authenticity of these encounters are unforgettable.
The Route of Emotions concludes in São Luís, a UNESCO World Heritage city known for its colonial architecture, colorful tiled façades, and rich Afro-Brazilian cultural heritage, providing a vibrant cultural finale after days immersed in nature and community life.
This journey is designed for travelers seeking raw beauty, soft adventure, and meaningful human connection, combining dramatic landscapes, off-the-beaten-path trekking, and intimate encounters along one of Brazil’s most emotional and rewarding routes.

Important Notice for All Participants
Please be advised that accommodation during the Route of Emotions (Extended Version) includes a variety of lodging styles. While some nights will be spent in twin-bed rooms, designed to foster connection and a sense of group presence, certain overnights will take place in traditional redários (hammock sleeping areas), which are common in this region.
The communal nature of these accommodations is an intentional part of the experience and reflects local customs and ways of life. Participants are required to bring their own hammock for nights spent in redários, as hammocks are not always provided.
Single rooms may be available on selected nights, subject to limited availability and an additional cost. All requests must be made in advance and are subject to confirmation; availability cannot be guaranteed.
