Rising from the mist where Venezuela, Brazil, and Guyana meet, Mount Roraima is a surreal tabletop mountain that has fascinated explorers, scientists, and nature lovers for centuries. Part of the Pakaraima mountain range, its summit reaches 2,810 meters (9,219 feet) and stretches across 31 square kilometers (12 square miles) — a prehistoric plateau surrounded by sheer 400-meter (1,300-foot) cliffs that rise dramatically above the rainforest canopy. Moss gardens and crystal-clear pools reflect the ever-changing clouds, while twisted shrubs and flower clusters emerge directly from the stone — each adapted to survive in an environment both harsh and fragile. Among the fauna, the Roraima bush toad (tiny, black, and yellow) is found nowhere else on Earth. The elusive brown-nosed coati, dazzling hummingbirds, and nocturnal oilbirds are also part of this rare web of life, making Mount Roraima a living museum of evolution and one of the top biodiversity destinations in South America.
